Congratulations @zwerfinator @plasticsoupsurfer @antaflu_nl with this achievement. Now those little plastic wrappers are replaced by paper and will not pollute the environment any more.
Another great example how @litterati
Data is used to actually make a change together with the supplier....
In these troubled times of corona and lockdowns many people depend on online deliveries.
Most companies use different materials for packaging. Like paper or plastic bags or foams like these. But even when they look alike sometimes there can be a big difference. The green ones in this picture are made of plastic while the white ones are made of potatoskin called ecoflo and used by companies like @lush_nl . Companies like @praxis_bouwmarkt and many others use plastic #polystyrenefoam, causing unnecessary plastic waste.
In case you think the plastic ones are much more expensive? Check the prices for eps chips and the potato based chips and be surprised.
You can easily check the chips by putting them into water. The bio ones will easily dissolve within seconds.
Even scrub salts contain microplastics like this one from @mijnstijl_nl
Luckily on this product it is readable it contains a PEG,
but on most healthcare products the ingredients are too small to read. Therefore install the #beatthemicrobead App from the @plasticsoupfoundation

Tip: Make sure your teabags are not made or contain plastics of any kind. Save choices are @clipperteas or @pukkaherbsnl .However, the best choice for the environment and your wallet is to use a #teaegg !
Yellow #kitchen #sponges with the green or white scouring pads are made from petroleum and are 0% biodegradable. They shed #microplastics into the water as they deteriorate and at best they last a few weeks. So how to make a difference? Choose an alternative like #Luffa or Safix from coconut fibre.
Or #DIY and make your own sponge from #sisal rope or hemp.

You can for instance use a coffeefilter and poor a sample in it.
Yes even #mouthwater contains microplastics. In the picture you see a slimey substance on the bottom of the filter which is #polyethyleneglycol
